Norwich City host Chelsea tonight in the first leg of this season’s FA Youth Cup final.

Chelsea beat Liverpool to reach tonight’s game and Norwich came through against Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea are looking to retain their title, winning the competition last year.

Norwich go into the tie as underdogs and their Academy Coach Neil Adams told their official club website: “I’m really looking forward to it – we’re really excited about it and proud to have got this far. It’s a massive achievement for the Academy.

“I’ve watched Chelsea, they’ve no doubt watched us and we’ve seen what we’re up against but we’re flexible. That’s the pleasing thing with the group we’ve got.

“They beat Blackburn 4-0 in the first leg of the final at Stamford Bridge last year, so if I’m being honest, I prefer the first leg at home without a doubt, particularly with the amount of support we’re going to get.”

Chelsea coach Ade Viveash told his club’s official website: “It’s a fantastic achievement by all the players and staff throughout the whole Academy.

“The Youth Cup means so much to everybody here and I think it’s a fitting reward for all the staff who have travelled up and down the country once again to support the boys.

“The staff all get so excited, I was speaking to some of them before they went up to Anfield and they said they’d never known the place to be so vibrant, so it was lovely they went up there and witnessed the display of football that we put on.

“The players have been terrific and they fully deserve their place in the final,” he said.

  2. It’s great to see the talent that exists in the game at this level being showcased to a wider audience than those who usually brave the elements to watch youth games on windy and wet training grounds up and down he country!

    On the ball, City!!!!!!!
