Gallo Appointed Brazil U20 Head Coach

Alexandre Gallo has been confirmed as the new head coach of the Brazil Under-20 side.

The departure of former coach Emerson Avila comes after his sides disappointing exit from the South American Youth Championship.

Gallo joins the international side from club team Nautico and will work directly under Brazilian legend Bebeto – who was appointed earlier this week to oversee all youth operations in samba football.

Jose Maria Marin, president of the Brazilian football confederation spoke to the media about the appointment: “I want to thank Naútico, who did not create any obstacle for Gallo to be the coach of the Under-20s,” Marin told reporters.

“We are dealing with an experienced professional who has been doing a good job for the clubs he has managed and, because of this, he has been chosen to manage the Under-20s.”

Before Naútico, Gallo has previously spent time at Atlético Mineiro and was formerly assistant manager of Corinthians.
